All About Justin

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Years Practicing: Began working with clients in January 2022 during graduate school

Specialties: Infidelity and Premarital Counseling

Why did you get into therapy? My parents’ divorce at 12 sparked my desire to understand relationships and help others navigate them. While serving an LDS mission in Rio de Janeiro, I discovered a deep love for guiding people through their struggles. This led me to study Marriage and Family Therapy, where I found my passion for attachment science and helping others build secure, lasting relationships.

What style do you implement in your counseling? I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment science to help individuals, couples, and families build stronger, more secure relationships. I believe everyone has a deep need for connection, and I create a safe space for clients to explore emotions, heal from past wounds, and develop healthier patterns. My approach is empathetic, collaborative, and practical, guiding clients toward lasting change in their relationships and emotional well-being.

A self-help book I’d recommend: Atomic Habits or Hold Me Tight

Second favorite hobby: Running

Greatest fear: Sharks

Best movie I’ve seen this year: Dune: Part Two

Favorite novel: The Count of Monte Cristo

Coolest place I’ve traveled: Cusco, Peru

When I’m not in the therapy room, I’m all about sports—whether I’m playing or watching, I love the competition and excitement. My wife and I are big movie fans, and we never miss an episode of Survivor. Some of my favorite moments are just being at the playground with her and our two little kids, running around and making memories. And to top it all off, you can always count on me to end the day with graham crackers and milk—the perfect snack.

My Approach & Values

In therapy, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based approaches to help individuals, couples, and families strengthen their emotional bonds. I believe that everyone has a deep need for connection, and my goal is to create a safe space where clients can explore emotions, heal from past wounds, and develop healthier relationship patterns. My approach is empathetic, collaborative, and practical, guiding clients toward meaningful, lasting change.

I primarily work with couples, helping them navigate relationship challenges, heal from betrayals, and build deeper emotional security.
