All About Ashley

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Specialties: Ashley is skilled in working with couples on relationship dynamics, including discussions around communication, connection, and sexual issues, and supporting individuals and families through life transitions, grief, and faith-related changes. She also has experience addressing anxiety, depression, and ADHD, bringing a holistic approach to her work to foster growth and healing.

Why did you get into therapy? Ashley’s journey to becoming a therapist began in her early 20s, fueled by a passion for personal growth and development. Before pursuing therapy, she explored various industries and spent over seven years living overseas, where she worked with a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women, educating children, and supporting impoverished communities at risk of human trafficking. This experience broadened her perspective on diverse cultures, life transitions, and the pervasive impact of shame.

Upon returning to the U.S., Ashley’s approach to therapy evolved. What started as a desire to share knowledge and tools for growth transformed into a deep commitment to listening, observing, and truly seeing her clients. She believes that each person is the expert of their own life, even when they don’t feel it yet, and works to help them uncover their inner wisdom.

Through attunement and a highly personalized approach, Ashley helps clients find healing, reconnect with their inherent value, and take actionable steps toward greater regulation, wisdom, and peace. Her flexible and compassionate methodology fosters empowerment, education, and transformation, creating a space where progress leads to lasting change.

A self-development book Ashley would recommend: Ashley has had a never ending list of books to read she’s added to since high school. A few of her most recent favorites include:

Think Again by Adam Grant

The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk

The Choice by Dr. Edith Eger (Memoir)

Tattoos on the Heart by Gregory Boyle (Memoir)

Second favorite hobby: Ashley is a lover of wisdom, adventure, food, endorphins, date nights, and laughter. Her second favorite hobby depends on the day. Whether she’s chasing endorphins or chasing new ideas, Ashley brings curiosity and enthusiasm to whatever sparks her interest.

Greatest Fear: Ashley’s greatest fear is that, in her effort to stay educated and attuned to others, she might miss the opportunity to offer someone the love and presence they need most in a critical moment.

Best movie you have seen in the last year:

Ashley recently rewatched Interstellar with her kids and loved it!

Favorite novel: Ashley hasn’t read a novel in a long time, but that growing list of books to read includes Brandon Sanderson’s novels. She loved his novella Legion and plans to join the discussions with her husband and children soon about the rest of his novels!

Coolest place you have traveled: Ashley lived in China for 5 years and Taiwan for 2 with her husband and 3 kids. While overseas, her travels to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India blew her mind and worldview wide open! If she had to pick ONE?? Thailand.

Hobbies and interests:
Ashley has a deep passion for the nonprofit world and seeks meaningful ways to support causes close to her heart. Her hobbies often revolve around connection and adventure, whether it’s hiking, boating, cold plunging, exercising, skydiving, bungee jumping, trying new restaurants, playing games, watching shows, or watching/sending relatable reels. That said, Ashley also enjoys being alone to recharge while reading, sleeping, meditating, practicing yoga, or enjoying peaceful walks with her dog.
